Patreon Update: December 2014

Welcome to my final Patreon Update for 2014! This past year has been incredible. I've achieved many of my goals (some unexpected), of which I will talk about in a future post. For now, however, let's focus on how my Patreon campaign is performing.

As always, please enjoy my transparency report right below — ranging from November's earnings to my video plans for the holidays.

November 2014 Earnings

Starting out with this month's earnings, I am happy to report nearly a $100 increase in pledges since October. That's really great news! It means that more patrons are getting onboard and pledges are increasingly being processed successfully.

I'm sure part of this has to do with the perk of accessing my Christmas videos ahead of schedule, but I am hoping most patrons kindly decide to stick around. Either way, I appreciate your support! A positive change in numbers is always good.

Below are my detailed earnings for November 2014:

  • Pledged: $953 by 151 patrons
  • Processed: $943 by 149 patrons
  • Deductions: $57.19 credit card fees, $47.15 Patreon fee
  • Final Paid: $837.40

Updates

With Christmas just days away, I am excited to release my annual videos ahead of schedule — an exclusive perk available only to patrons! In case you missed it in last month's Patreon Update, I plan to have my "Christmas 2014" series published for patrons to watch as early as Sunday, December 28. That's nearly one week ahead of public release, which will be Friday, January 2.

Like last year, I do plan on taking the week off after Christmas. This will be my chance for some much needed downtime, especially considering all the work that goes into editing my holiday videos. I genuinely enjoy what I do, but sometimes taking a break is nice.

However, the beginning of 2015 is going to be huge for me. I have a ton of things in the works, including preparing for my trip to Las Vegas for CES 2015. It's going to be a lot of work, but I am excited to share my trip with everyone — geeks and non-geeks. The vlogs will have a nice balance of CES coverage and sightseeing around Vegas.

Of course, my Vegas trip is only the beginning. There is a lot of work to be done when I return, including a total revamp of Squarespace Summit — something I will talk about in detail in my annual new year's resolution post.

For now, however, let's not rush the holidays. I look forward to sharing my family's Christmas memories with everyone in the coming days!
