Patreon Update: November 2014

Welcome to my latest Patreon Update! For the sake of being transparent with my community, this is the monthly status report of my Patreon campaign, which details all earnings and anything that has changed since last month's check-in.

With the holidays quickly approaching, I feel this is the best time to become a patron. I'll explain why in just a few moments.

October 2014 Earnings

Like September, there was a slight drop in October's earnings — and that's mostly due to false pledges. As of this writing, there are 16 patrons' payments that have failed to process. Unfortunately, this is inevitable every month, especially considering Patreon's flawed method of verifying payments beforehand. I am really hoping this is resolved soon, as it's my number one issue with the platform.

Moving forward, I am kindly asking that future patrons verify their payment information before making their pledge(s). This is imperative in making my monthly Patreon updates as accurate as they can possibly be. And for that, I would be incredibly thankful.

Below are my detailed earnings for October 2014:

  • Pledged: $901 by 135 patrons
  • Processed: $876 by 134 patrons
  • Deductions: $53.35 credit card fees, $43.80 Patreon fee
  • Final Paid: $768.94

Updates

Last month I introduced a bunch of new updates, in regards to both pledges and milestone goals. In case you missed it, you can read October's Patreon Update here. There is plenty worth checking out, as it's my biggest update since launching my Patreon campaign this summer.

With the new year quickly approaching, I can't help but have the holidays on my mind. Can you blame me? It's the best time of the year, especially as a content creator. I'm really excited about sharing my annual holiday videos with everyone. And speaking of, for the first time ever, patrons will get access to these videos ahead of public release!

As a patron ($5+ pledge), this means you'll be able to watch my holiday videos before everyone else. This especially goes for my videos recorded on Christmas Day, which are currently scheduled to go live for the public on Friday, January 2.

However, I'm going to do my best to publish these videos for my patrons no later than Sunday, December 28 — just three days after Christmas. I think I can pull it off!

Of course, the same goes for all my other holiday videos. Patrons will be able to watch "Thanksgiving 2014" ahead of schedule, as well as any other videos that make the cut.

Needless to say, this is the best time to become a patron. Not only is it your chance at getting an early start on some of my most anticipated videos, but it's also a great way of supporting me this holiday season. 'Tis the season to become a patron!

Monthly $25 Amazon Gift Card Giveaway

In October I introduced a new pledge reward that automatically enters patrons into a monthly $25 Amazon gift card giveaway. To kick things off, I am excited to announce that Andrew Henschen is the first winner! Congratulations, Andrew! You will be hearing from me shortly.

Conclusion

Well, there you have it. Another successful Patreon Update has come to a close. Despite the unfortunate circumstance of false pledges, I am still quite happy with how things are going. Especially with the holidays right around the corner, I'm confident in seeing a boost in earnings for next month's update — particularly because of the option to watch my holiday videos ahead of public release.

Until next time, thank you so much for your support! You truly are making a difference. And as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or feedback.
